Ryan McKenna was able to latch onto the rebound after Tom Ince's shot was saved to put Town ahead in the first ten minutes. Jay Hart doubled Town's advantage just before the half hour mark, as Chris Turner played a great ball to Richie Allen, who crossed the ball into Town's top scorer and volleyed home. Heys were able to get one back in the second half though it wasn't enough to stop Town heading back to Lancashire with all three points and extending the unbeaten run to seven.
