Longridge Town's 2020/2021 revised fixtures have, on Tuesday 8th December, been released by the NWCFL.
Since a second month long national lockdown which temporarily halted the NWCFL season, various re-arrangements have been made to the playing calendar, specifically over the festive period.
It has been most recently announced, on Monday 14th December, that the season can and will resume on Saturday 19th December, though this will not be the case for Longridge following the club's progression in the Buildbase FA Vase on Saturday 12th December from the second round to the third following a win on penalties against Penistone Church.
Town will instead face Warrington Rylands at home on the opening re-commencement day in the third round of the FA Vase and will then resume the league campaign the following Saturday, Boxing Day (26th December), with a trip to Squires Gate.
The first game of 2021 will be as initially scheduled, at home to Avro. Padiham will then be the next destination for Ridge in mid-week following the Avro game, on Wednesday 6th January.
At present, these are the only fixtures confirmed by the NWCFL, the remainder of the season's calendar will be formed in line with the ongoing pandemic and the subsequent guidelines which could allow or disallow the continuation of the season.
Further updates will be provided as and when we have them.
Everyone at Longridge Town is looking forward to resuming the 2020/2021 season after the prolonged mid-season break. Equally, we are looking forward to welcoming a limited amount of supporters back to the Mike Riding Ground for our first home game against Warrington Rylands on Saturday 19th December in the third round of the Buildbase FA Vase.
