Ing joins the club on a two year deal, as Ashcroft gets his man. Dean has previously enjoyed great success in the North West Counties, having starred for Squires Gate over a 4 year period with the club scoring 56 goals in his three-and-a-half seasons on the coast. Colne picked Ing up on a two year deal in November 2021 for an undisclosed fee, however with the managerial change at the club this summer Town have swooped in amongst the uncertainty to bring the striker in.

The 2021/22 season saw Ing start the season with Towns NWCFL rivals Squires Gate, where he would go on to score 14 goals in 19 games winning the leagues September player of the month award. In mid November, Colne won the race for Ing's signature. The attackers Squires Gate form continued into his new club as he hit the ground running, winning the clubs November player of the month award despite having only joined up mid way through the month. The winter period however was not as fruitful for our new addition and resulted in a 28 day loan back to Gate being agreed in late January. Ing would go on to score 1 goal in his 4 game loan spell before returning to Colne for the remainder of the season. The added playing time clearly helped the striker, as he finished the season in good form scoring 4 goals in the final 6 weeks of the season for his parent club helping them to a 14th place finish in the NPL West Division.

Manager, Lee Ashcroft was clearly delighted to get his target over the line.
"This is a great signing for the club, we’re a very young side this year and although Dean is still only 24, he’s an experienced and successful goal scorer at this level of football and above. We’ve worked very hard this past few weeks to get him in, and I’m delighted for him as well. He’s a great lad on and off the pitch, and I can work with him on his game and the way we play football here to improve him even more. He’s very keen to learn and my job is to work with him and make sure that he enjoys his football."
