Speaking this morning Ashey was clearly pleased to have bolstered his squad at such a vital time of the season: "Ric is just what we need at the moment, a great boost to the lads in the squad to see a new face coming in.

"I’ve known and watched him during his spells at Kendal Town and Squires Gate and I am delighted to finally be working with him.

"We are maybe a bit short of options in certain areas and with Joe Melling returning to the Club this week as well, it’ll add fresh legs and give me a few options with so many games coming up.

"Ric is an excellent player at this level, strong, quick, and he has the technical ability to fit into our style of play perfectly."

Town visit the Cheshire side tomorrow looking for three points on the road, with a 3pm kick off scheduled.
