Longridge Town are on the road again as they travel to the Northeast of England to take on Boldon CA.
After success in the extra preliminary round of the FA cup last weekend, Lee Ashcroft’s attention turns to the first round of qualifying in the Isuzu FA Vase.
One casualty from the victory over Keighley Town was Finn Cross-Adair who went off injured in the first half. It is unknown whether he will be fit enough to return on Saturday with Ashcroft saying: “I don’t know how serious it is, hopefully he will be back soon”.
The opposition Boldon CA compete in the Northern football league 2nd division. They are currently unbeaten occupying top of the table with 16 points from 6 games. It’s an impressive start to the season, particularly taking into account last seasons 20th place finish before league restructure. They have already won five games this season and will be hoping to maintain their good start to push to secure step five status
Robbie Gateshill could cause problems having scored four goals so far this season including the winner in Wednesday night’s victory against AFC Newbiggin.
Kick off at the Boldon Colliery Welfare Ground is at 15:00 on Saturday the 15th August.
