Wythenshawe walk all over Town

Town suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of high flying Wythenshawe.

Josh Winder's return to the side couldn't prevent another loss.

Both sides actually started the game very lively.

After just 30 seconds, Leighton Hewitt skinned his man down the right before he cross was cleared.

The first save was then made by Kitchen as he tipped over a long range effort well.

The hosts then scored the first of many on 11 minutes.

Mason chased a long ball, seemingly pushing Daniel Wilkinson over, took it round Kitchen and passed it into the empty net.

Mason then bagged again five minutes later as he poked home at the near post from a Bickerton cross.

Laird made it three seconds later as he lashed it into the net from close range.

It was then four, as Ly pounced on a flick on from Mason.

Harries almost pulled one back on 35 minutes as he raced onto a long ball from Homson-Smith but poked it wide.

Mason completed his hat-trick early in the second half as he headed it in at the far post.

Callum Laird then got in on the action as he chested a cross into the goal.

Ly completed the scoring on 68 minutes as he squeezed it in at the near post after chesting down a long ball.

Clark nearly grabbed a consolation but Aikenhead managed to turn away McGovern's cross who was destined for the forward.

Substitute Ryan Lockett tried to carve out a chance as he beat his man down the right before driving an effort straight into the goalkeeper's arms.

Wythenshawe's goalkeeper then made a good save with his legs to keep out McGovern who turned and shot well.

Davies almost grabbed an eighth as he went on a great solo run, beating four players and then hitting the inside of the post.

The full time whistle then confirmed the result moments later.

A set back but we now have two consecutive home games now.

A big chance to get back to winning ways.

First we face Pilkington on Tuesday 27th February with a kick off time of 7:45pm at the Recycling Lives Ground.

A reminder that if you bought a Bury ticket then you can gain free entry to this fixture.

Then we take on Padiham on Saturday 2nd March at 11am for groundhopping day.

We're expecting a big crowd for that game so make sure to be a part of it and back the boys as we enter the crucial part of the season.
