Longridge were defeated by a well organised Prestwich Heys side who scored a goal in both halves to win the three points.
Despite a bright start, the home side drew blood after 14 minutes through their captain, James Badrock.
Striker Kamoy McNair doubled their lead with 20 minutes left.
Town finished the game with ten men, following bad injuries to Toby Coar and Paul Turner.
Town were without Ethan Gough through illness.
Jack Anderton and Luke Smith missed out through suspension.
As a result, Liam Atkinson and Ben Fletcher came in to start.
As mentioned, Town started well.
Lucas Wane managed to lift the ball over the Prestwich defence to Atkinson who took aim from 20 yards, only for Heys 'keeper Haslam to clutch it to his chest.
The hosts then began to get on top, as Kai Crowe did well to hold a 25 yard effort from Reece Lascelles-Higgins.
The home side broke the deadlock soon after though, as Badrock's close range effort beat Crowe following a free kick.
Tricky winger Takura Sambizi then hit the post on the half hour mark as Heys looked for a second.
The attacker then rolled an effort inches wide from the left hand side a couple of minutes later.
Atkinson found the gloves of Haslam again after being set by Wane.
On the verge of half time, Town came possibly the closest they would come all night.
A cross turned shot from Aaron Hewitt struck the underside of the bar and bounced clear.
The heavens opened at the break, making for a wet second half.
Early into the second half and Town had another golden opportunity go begging.
Turner managed to round the goalkeeper at a tight angle but his effort could only roll into the side netting.
Crowe did well to push wide an effort from close range, with Josh Ashe clearing from the resulting corner..
Some brilliant defending from Coar resulted in a retaliation foul by McNair, who was punished with a booking.
Wane managed to get round the outside before cutting in and seeing his effort beaten away by Haslam.
The rebound effort from Leighton Hewitt was blocked by a defender.
However, bad news soon followed.
Turner had to depart after picking up a bad knock in the attack.
He was replaced by Will Procter.
Mitch Marshall was then booked, for a foul on the edge of the box.
Town then went to their bench again, replacing Wane with Carson Greaves.
A couple of minutes later and the hosts completed the scoring.
McNair placed a close range left footed effort intonthe bottom corner to double his side's lead.
Crowe then had to tip a fierce 20 yard effort wide from Luke Mann.
Atkinson then made way for Yuvi Dewan as the third and final change with 15 minutes left to play.
Another disaster then struck for Town, as Coar was body slammed with the ball long gone.
The Ridge had to finish with ten men, with the defender looking to have sustained a very nasty shoulder injury.
The game fizzled out from that point, with Dewan leading a late attack.
He found Hewitt who backheeled into Procter.
The forward set himself from 20 yards before shooting wide on the wet surface.
The full time whistle blew not long after.
A huge thank you for your support tonight, we go again on Saturday at home to West Didsbury and Chorlton.
Let's get behind the boys as we look to get back to winning ways against a play-off chasing side.
It was not our night tonight, but we will bounce back.
