
It was frustration once again for Longridge as they fell to yet another narrow defeat.
Danny Wilkinson's headed equaliser wasn't enough to nab at least a point as the hosts soaked up the Town pressure and snatched a late goal with 15 minutes left.
Lee Ashcroft was forced to change his side up with traffic issues back in Preston as Luke Smith started and Olatunde Bayode returned on his dual registration from Bamber Bridge.
Ing got the game underway as Longridge made their intentions early from the off.
Despite this the hosts managed to win an early corner which Burey would've scored straight from had Bayode not cleared it off the line.
Town started testing the goal a few minutes later as Wilkinson slipped Ing in but his outside of the foot effort curled wide.
Ten minutes later following a great spell of possession for Longridge, Homson-Smith played a lovely reverse pass into Bayode who saw his cross caught.
The Ridge continued keeping the ball and trying to wear down the Glossop defence.
It fell to Ing from a tight angle who forced a corner.
Homson-Smith delivered his first of many set pieces but Glossop managed to clear.
Glossop cleared and hit a nice counter attack and won a corner.
This time it was crossed into the penalty spot, headed goalwards and past Barry.
Thankfully captain Ben Fletcher was there to head off the line once again.
Glossop threatened from a corner once again as it was played short into Burey who sliced it over the bar from 20 yards.
Moments later and the hosts had a penalty as Fletcher accidently came across the enrushing Burey inside the area.
Lee Rick stepped up and fired just out of Barry's reach to open the scoring.
Town dusted themselves down and came at Glossop once again.
Homson-Smith crossed a corner into Ing after the forward won the set piece but his header at goal was blocked and cleared.
35 minutes gone and a McLean delivery caused issues in the six yard box before Glossop managed to clear.
Nothing of note happened before the break bar Bjork receiving a booking for a late challenge on Homson-Smith.
With a full squad now available to him, Ashey made a double change with Scott Harries and Harrison Kay replacing Ben Fletcher and Luke Smith.
Early into the second 45 Wilkinson picked out Bayode down the right who saw his shot deflected behind for a corner.
Homson-Smith delivered but the 'keeper punched away.
Ing fed Turner on the half turn who beat his man before firing a fairly weak effort into the arms of Hood.
Up the other end just moments later and the hosts had the ball in the net but the flag was raised on the far side.
Seconds after and Longridge were level.
Bayode won a free kick before Homson-Smith curled it into Danny Wilkinson who nodded past the 'keeper the level the game.
Town now had a much deserved equaliser and wasn't settling for just that.
Another Town attack was foiled on 64 minutes with Glossop taking the opportunity to counter attack.
Bjork received it on the edge of the box before turning and firing it over.
Josh Winder then replaced Paul Turner.
Harries received it on the edge of the box from Kay before managing to lay off Homson-Smith who hit his powerful effort straight at Hood in the Glossop goal.
With 20 minutes left Tom Lawless hit another half chance over the bar from 20 yards for Glossop.
Town lost the ball in midfield on 74 minutes before the hosts powered forward on the counter.
It came to Jaques Etia on the edge of the area and the forward poked it into the bottom left corner to give the hosts the lead against the run of play.
Unfortunately Mitch Marshall was caught by Etia whilst the forward took the shot and had to be replaced by Alex Welsh.
Glossop enjoyed a spell of possession for a few minutes as a few Longridge heads dropped.
Bayode had to be replaced by Zach in Town's final change as he too had to limp off.
Winder won a free kick down the right on 91 minutes. Homson-Smith played it into Clark who saw his header saved.
Town threw bodies forward and won a corner in the 96th minute.
Kay delivered this one but it was knocked behind.
Just as Town were gearing up for another corner the referee blew the full time whistle, confirming another defeat for Longridge.
Another narrow defeat but certainly positives to be taken.
Town will look to stop the rot on Saturday 23rd December when we welcome Pilkington to the Recycling Lives Ground, another side going through a tough time.
