Liam Atkinson bagged a second hat-trick is as many games as Longridge came from 3-0 behind to draw 4-4 in a goal crazy derby at Mossie Park.
Jordan Dainty also got back on the scoresheet as Town dragged themselves back level.
The Ridge showed incredible team spirit and fight especially after a set back on Thursday after being on the receiving end of a late comeback.
Thankfully this time, it was Town who did the comeback.
Joe Adams made his debut in midfield as we kicked off.
It didn't take long for the deadlock to be broken.
Striker Matthew Davies received it on the edge of the box before flicking it over the head of Mitch Marshall and firing into the opposite bottom corner on just 8 minutes.
The hosts then extended their lead just two minutes later, as Nathan Nickeas lashed it into the bottom right corner from the edge of the box.
Nickeas almost got a third on just 15 minutes, as he poked a cross from the right into the far corner.
Thankfully the flag was promptly raised for offside.
Down but not out, Town started to play some good stuff then following a change of shape.
Leighton Hewitt, now playing further up the field, saw a fierce effort from 25 yards tipped wide by Ryan Hamer in the Charnock goal.
The resulting corner fell into the path of Goncalves who prodded just over from close range.
Liam Atkinson now tried to get involved.
He took it past a defender down the right before crossing into Goncalves.
Charnock defender Spencer Bibby almost turned it into his own goal but to his relief it flashed just wide of the far post.
Ben Trafford spotted the run of Atkinson from defence a couple of minutes later and pumped it forward to the attacker.
The Charnock goalkeeper Hamer collided with own defender Sky Sinclair and the loose ball fell to Goncalves who could only shoot over from 25 yards out.
The tricky winger then made himself a handful again as he worked his way down the left and fed it into Atkinson.
The striker turned and fired wide of the target.
Town then had a free kick 20 yards from goal after Goncalves was sandwiched by Sinclair and Gibson.
Debutant Joe Adams stepped up and curled it wide.
Some would say against the run of the play, but Charnock Richard then extended their lead to three goals, as Luke Power flicked it over the advancing Town defender and buried it, in an eerily similar way to Davies' opener.
Despite no changes at the break, Town came out a completely different side.
The Charnock defence's rusty start to half helped contribute to Town kicking off their comeback, as they failed to react to a loose ball.
Hewitt did however, but could only fire over from 20 yards.
Atkinson then grabbed his first, as he squeezed through the now tight Charnock backline and found the bottom corner.
Little over five minutes later and The Ridge had a second goal back.
Ryan McLean's inch perfect delivery was nodded brilliantly into the top corner by Atkinson and all of a sudden it was game on.
It was almost a quick fire hat-trick moments later as Atkinson fired at goal from the edge of the area but it was brilliantly tipped over by Hamer.
It was then, supposed heartache for Town, as Charnock defender Luke Gibson got on the end of a simple ball across goal from a corner and tapped home at the back post.
Ashcroft reacted by quickly getting Jordan Dainty and Lucas Wane on, replacing Lewis Richmond and Jefferson Goncalves.
This worked a treat as ten minutes later, it was 4-3.
Jordan Dainty picked it up on the edge of the area, sat the advancing defender down and fired into the bottom left corner.
Three minutes and it was pandemonium on and off the pitch.
Atkinson raced onto a ball from midfield and fired at goal.
Hamer parried it back into the forward's effort back into his path and this time, Liam made no mistake.
With the score now somehow tied at 4-4, the hosts kicked themselves back into gear.
Mason Walker made a crucial save at his near post just before the 90th minute at his near post to keep Town level.
With the hosts now seeing a lot of the ball Town took a few yellow cards contesting for the ball, with Ryan McLean, Jacob Bridges and Lucas Wane finishing the game in the book.
However, in the fifth minute of stoppage time, Town got a rare break.
It was cleared by Bridges upfield and Charnock defender Marcus Haydock looked to shield it out for a throw.
He didn't however, anticipate the surging run of Mitch Marshall, who nicked in and stole the ball before it could leave the field.
He made space down the right before looking to roll it across to Adams who managed to get a toe on it but Gibson just got there ahead and managed to clear. What could've been there.
Despite the late half chance and the Charnock Richard pressure, Town held on until the end to claim a priceless point on the road.
Although not a win, we are now two games unbeaten heading into the Lancashire Challenge Trophy on Tuesday.
As for Liam Atkinson, two hat-tricks in two games, 13 goals in 17 games. The boy's on flames.
As mentioned, we travel to Clitheroe for a Lancashire Challenge Trophy tie on Tuesday.
We then travel to South Liverpool on the Saturday to complete the four games on the road.
A return home to Inglewhite Road comes on Saturday 9th November as we host Glossop North.
A massive thank you to those who backed the boys superbly today.
Some of the noise after the equaliser and beyond was brilliant to hear.
We go again.
