Saturday sees the clash between two of the division's most accomplished ex players with both sides desperate for three points.
Town will be hoping for a similar outcome to the reverse fixture where the Ridge ran out 6-0 winners.
The Opposition
Since Skem's demotion due to ground standard at the end of last season, their revival hasn't gone to plan as they find themselves bottom of the table following a truly torrid start.
However the struggling Skem have had an upturn in form as of late.
Having won 4 out of their last 6 includes wins over fellow strugglers such as Squires Gate and Glossop North End, Skelmersdale are now a real danger.
Skem have come on leaps and bounds since the reverse fixture and will no doubt looking to add another win against a lower table side.
Town got a bit win over West Didsbury in their first game of the new year but have struggled since.
However Ashey's men have already had some success at Skem's ground having beaten their ground sharers Burscough 4-1 at the Community Ground in September.
Striker Yasir Salim has bagged 6 goals in 10 games following his transfer from Maine Road in November, including a goal in each of his last five, making him one to watch this weekend.
Former France international Pascal Chimbonda still has a long way to go to save Skem, but there's no doubt he's going the right way about it.

Team News
As previously mentioned, Town have already had success at the Community Ground this season and will hope for even more on Saturday.
The last time the Ridge travelled up to Skelmersdale was 3rd August 2021, where Longridge came from a goal behind to win 2-1 following goals from Jack Anderton and Jordan Southworth.
Ashey & Co will be hoping to add to that solid record against Skem this weekend.
