Town still seek the first win of the new season despite some solid performances.

Following Saturday's crazy 4-4 draw with Chadderton, where Town led twice. We currently sit 21st in the Premier Division and it could soon get worse if the Ridge do not snatch that big three points.

Ahead of Tuesday's game we have now set up a brand new YouTube channel where you can watch Match highlights, interviews and more. Link to access is just below.

Opposition

Newly relegated Ramsbottom are off to a fair start, sitting 10th after their first 5 matches. Steve Wilkes was appointed manager after quitting Northwich Victoria in the summer and brought almost all his players with him. Making a new side fairly familiar.

Players like Kuda Chingwaro and Matt Dudley undoubtedly ones to watch with 5 goals between the forwards. Dudley was decorated at the end of last season with top goalscorer, manager's player and player's player of the year awards.

In their last match, the Rams threw away a two goal lead at home in a 2-2 draw with West Didsbury & Chorlton. Tuesday's game should be an interesting one between two fairly leaky defences.

Last Time Out

Longridge's last game against Ramsbottom came in the 2017/18 pre-season schedule where it ended 1-1 at the then called Mike Riding Ground.

Town went into the break ahead courtesy of an early Greg Johnstone strike, but were pegged back by Andy Tryallyst who flicked a header across Lee Dovey's goal and into the net.

A great result at the time but Town have experience beating teams managed by Wilkes just last season, as we scored twice in the last 5 minutes via Ben Finley and Ryan Schofield for a 2-1 win at Wincham Park.

Team News

With last week's team news so miserable we now have some positive news ahead of Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Kier Barry has recovered and is back in training after playing in Saturday's 4-4 draw. Jack Anderton's knock is also not as bad as first feared with the forward hopefully back and available for Tuesday's game.

Lee Ashcroft recently gave his thoughts on the injury crisis: "I'm not one to whinge and moan about players that we've got injured but to have 10, 11 players unavailable for the first month of the season, any team at any level would be struggling"
