It's that time of year, once again.

The Ridge are back, and it's National League North side Chorley that we will face in our first pre-season friendly of 2025.

To add a bit of spice to the fixture, the two teams will be competing for the Mayoral Cup, set up by Longridge Town chairman and Longridge Mayor Lee Jameson.

The trophy will be in aid of Ribble Valley Dementia and LTFC juniors.

A reminder that we are looking for sponsors for the rest of our pre-season home matches.

The Opposition

And haven't we got a good opponent for the trophy.

The National League North play-off semi finalists only came to a halt in their promotion push at the hands of the eventual winners, Scunthorpe United.

The Magpies have so far spent the summer retaining key players from that superb campaign, including Mark Ellis, the centre back who bagged 14 goals on their way to the Scunthorpe tie.

Club legend Adam Blakeman has also committed to Chorley for 2025/26, making two goalscoring defenders to watch out for.
