The Ridge look to bounce back from derby disappointment with this weekend's FA Cup tie.

Town will also looking for a longer FA Cup run than last season, following an extra preliminary round exit to Widnes.

We ask that anyone parking in and around the ground on Saturday take the locals into consideration.

There's plenty of parking spaces available at Longridge Civic Hall, should the club car park be full.

The Opposition

Keep it quiet, but admin reckons Cheadle Town are ones to watch this season.

Following the induction of new owners and the appointment of Wythenshawe FC assistant Jake Davies as new gaffer, they soon got to work in the transfer market, bulking up the squad with many quality players.

They beat Prestwich Heys 2-1 on opening day with new boy Daniel McLaughlin bagging a brace.

There's no doubt they're now an ambitious club, but whether they'll be able to keep up with the so called 'big hitters' is another story.

Even if they did falter in their second game against newly promoted St Helens.

Last time out, Town ran out 3-2 winners away at Cheadle following two last minute goals from Leighton Hewitt and Scott Harries, completely turning the tide of the game.

Team News

Many lads will see Saturday as an opportunity to impress.

Local lad Charlie Alston is making fantastic progress from his ACL injury that has left him out of action for 2 years.

Though Saturday's game may come a bit soon for him.

Town have had terrible luck with ACL injuries over the past couple of years, new signing Tom McCann is due a scan soon to confirm the suspicions that the injury taken in pre-season could also be an ACL.

Liam Atkinson's suspension is due to take effect soon, following his sending off against Burscough with Town unable to appeal it.
