The Opposition

Jack Davies' side have had a solid second season in the Premier Division.

They sit just one point above Longridge, helped massively by their past two games where they ran out 4-1 winners over Prestwich Heys and 5-0 winners over Squires Gate.

This recent good run has been coming though, Town ran out 2-0 winners over Cheadle back in August in the FA Cup extra preliminary round but they had to work for it.

A early goal from Matty Van Wyk and a late one from Ryan McLean sent Town into the next round, though they couldn't advance any further.

Last season as Park Road, Longridge came from 2-1 behind in the dying moments to win 3-2, as late goals from Leighton Hewitt and Scott Harries won Town a thriller.

Ex Town striker Connor Martin is currently plying his trade for Cheadle, after joining from Prestwich Heys in the summer and has scored 5 goals so far.

However, attacker Darren McKnight stays their top scorer with 6, with three of those coming in his past two games.

To be fair too, Cheadle have conceded just 26 goals so far this season, placing them the third best defensive team in the division, just behind top of the league Ramsbottom and close behind Bury.

It's just the 29 goals scored though, the only thing leaving them short of being a real challenger.
