Longridge travel to local rivals Charnock Richard in search of keeping up their good away form.

They'll have to overcome a Charnock side with a fairly indifferent form.

The Opposition

Last season, The Ridge fell to a 3-1 defeat at Mossie Park, ending the match with ten men.

They did however get revenge with a 2-1 win over Charnock in the reverse fixture, with a Jack Arrowsmith brace enough to see the villagers off.

The 1955 founded side now have 2 wins in their past 6 matches, however the signing of ex Longridge Town striker Brad Carsley to bolster their front line undoubtly makes them a serious threat.

Carsley isn't the only threat, Nathan Nickeas and Rustam Stepans are on 17 goals each.

Despite this, Longridge have four more goals scored than them, but 22 more conceded.

Manager Ryan Donnellan actually led the Villagers to a Macron Cup win in 21/22, having held the boss position since 2019/20, turning them into a side with the potential to upset anyone.

They certainly cause problems for the higher ranking sides, beating Bury twice in three matches, with the other being a draw.

Tuesday night will be the first time the two sides are set to face off this season, with the second coming in just over a month's time.

Team News

Longridge Town have resigned winger Brett McGovern from AFC Fylde.

McGovern spent the 23/24 pre-season with Longridge, scoring 2 goals in 3 games before joining the National League North's reserve side.

He came off the bench to grab the equaliser on his second debut as Town came from behind to win 3-1 away at AFC Liverpool on Saturday.

On the negative side, defender Sam Olawumi has joined Prestwich Heys, going straight into their squad for Tuesday's game against Colne.
