The Ridge look to get back to winning ways following late disappointment at the weekend.
That will be easier said than done though, with a trip to David Dempsey's Burscough on the cards.
The Opposition
Last year the Linnets finished 11th.
This came after two finishes below 20th place, so it was a huge improvement on recent years.
Attacker Matthew Hamilton leads their scoring charts with two, as he added to his opening day strike on Friday night, in his side's 2-0 victory over Prestwich Heys.
We'd also be silly not to mention their goalkeeper Ben Barnes.
A presence between the sticks that won't be easy to get past.
It's no wonder they've conceded just two goals so far.
The Ridge edged a 1-0 win over Burscough in the opening day of last season, as both sides finished the game with ten men after Leighton Hewitt won it late on.
However in the reverse fixture, the Linnets recorded a fairly comfortable 2-0 win over Town as the back end of the season.
Our soon to be hosts start the season off in 9th place, just four places ahead of Longridge in 13th, so it's hard to pick a favourite at this point.
As proven by the head to head, Tuesday really could either way.

Team News
Club captain Ben Fletcher has recently returned to action, and is now available for selection on Tuesday.
Maddox Banks earned his first man of the match in Town colours on Saturday, well done Maddox.
Attacker Tom Johnson also made his Town debut at the weekend, after joining from Bamber Bridge.
Saturday was also Longridge's first defeat of the 2025/26 season, they'll have to work hard to make sure they don't suffer another tomorrow.
