Manager Lee Ashcroft was delighted when centre forward Liam Atkinson gave the thumbs up to joining the Ridge, making the step up from Sunday football. “We hosted a Blackburn Sunday League Cup semi final here about 18 months ago and Liam stood out as a player with huge potential. I’ve kept an eye on him since and he’s proven already in pre season that he’s more than capable of playing at this level. Big, strong, good movement, and a goal scorer. I’m looking forward to watching him for us this season, and the supporters love him already. I’m buzzing that he’s joined us and we have great options up front this season.”

Liam himself was pleased to sign for Town: “The Manager has been here a long time, and was an attacking player himself, so it’s great for me to be able to listen and learn from him. It’s a good bunch of lads, all fairly young, all good footballers, and I can’t wait to get going.”
