The football season is upon us as Longridge Town get the 26/27 campaign underway with a trip to Trafford FC.

Following last season's 15th-placed finish, Town have reinforced with 12 new players joining the squad.

There are a few familiar faces to have signed on the dotted line.

Muhammed Haji returns to Inglewhite Road after a loan spell with the side last season.

Former Preston North End Forward Finn Cross Adair was also announced, rejoining Longridge after going through the youth side.

The first test for Lee Ashcroft’s side comes with a visit to Manchester.

After a disappointing season, Trafford were relegated from the Northern Premier League West last season.

As a result, they return to the North West Counties Premier Division for the first time since 2008, leading to Saturday being the first meeting between the two sides.

Kick-off for the season opener at Shawe View is 15:00 on Saturday the 1st August.
