He impressed in his first season defensively before adding goals to his game in the 23/24 season, with the full back currently on seven strikes for the season.

"Raz" McLean joined in the summer of the 2023/24 season from Barnoldswick Town, where he made an almost instant impact from left back with 2 goals and 8 assists.

Ashey was full of praise for the two lads:

"These lads have played nearly 100 games between them this year in what has been a long season, and they’ve been so consistent that I can count a few below par performances on one hand.

Despite it being a transitional season, bringing in and developing many young players, these two have stood out as absolute stars for me.

It’s also a testament to the lads who’ve shown great loyalty to the Club, having each had opportunities to move to a higher level of football during the season. I love that, and it shows the supporters, and hard working volunteers, that we must be doing something right if players as good as these two are enjoying their football here and appreciate all the off field efforts of everyone.”
