Cup fever has hit Longridge Town as the 2026/27 FA Cup gets underway on Saturday.
As the world’s oldest competition prepares for another outing, Town are hoping for knockout success with a trip across the Pennines to face Keighley Town on Saturday 8th August.
Lee Ashcroft’s men enter at the earliest round of qualifying, the Extra Preliminary round the 1st of six qualifying stages before the first-round proper in November.
Last year saw Town reach the 1st round of qualifying with an 8-1 replay win against Pilkington at this stage before a preliminary round 5-1 victory over Emley AFC.
The challenge facing Longridge is North Counties East side Keighley Town.
Based in West Yorkshire, Keighley currently occupy 18th position in their league table, on one point from three games.
Formerly known as Eccleshill United they share a ground with rugby side Keighley Cougars having changed names since last season after a 12th place finish, their highest in four seasons.
