Having joined from Warrington Rylands at the beginning of last season, Conor unfortunately had little opportunity to show his undoubted quality as injury put pay to his season. Having suffered an ACL injury, Ready underwent surgery in January and is now moving closer to a return on the pitch.

Deployed mainly as an attacking midfielder, Conor can also play deeper in midfield or as a number nine. His tenacious attitude, coupled with great technical ability mean Ashcroft is looking forward to his return commenting: “Conor’s going to be like a new signing hopefully when he’s back! Honestly I can’t tell you how hard he’s worked to get back to fitness, he’s travelled to most of our games and been great to have around the place. He’s still a couple of months away probably but when his second debut comes it will be great to see for everyone at the club. He’s a popular lad and we know what he’s capable of on the pitch. The quality, experience and class he can bring for us will be a massive asset to this club.”
