Ahead of Saturdays 2-0 FA Cup win against Cheadle Town, Vice Chair Kev Harrison presented manager Lee Ashcroft with a framed shirt to mark his 10 years in charge of the Club, and to celebrate his 500th game as manager yesterday.
“Ashey has overseen the transformation of the Club, and the team, over the past 10 years. At any level of football, to reach 500 games as manager of one club is a remarkable achievement and his dedication and commitment to Longridge Town has been unmatched over that time,” said Kev.
“We’ve made many great memories over the years, two Championships, two promotions and one Cup win, with several players going on to play League football after working with Lee here.”
Ashey was full of praise for the Club, “ I’ve worked with some great people here over 10 years, on and off the pitch, and am proud of what we’ve all achieved".
"I came here as a player/manager all those years ago and am still as competitive today as I was then… although I’m told that I’ve calmed down a bit! Here’s to the next 500 games.”
