Town are delighted to announce that League One side Blackpool will visit the Mike Riding Ground as part of our pre-season preparations.

The Seasiders will be bringing their first team down the M55 on Sunday 28th July, just under a week before Longridge kick-off their season in the NWCFL Premier Division.

Town’s pre-season games begin this Saturday with a visit to Freckleton FC, with friendlys against Conwy Borough, Chorley, Bamber Bridge, Preston North End II, Euxton Villa and Fulwood Amateurs also set to take place.

Blackpool finished 10th in League One last season, and will be hoping a new era at Bloomfield Road will bring back success and promotion to the Championship.
Town boss Lee Ashcroft is thrilled to have the fixture confirmed.

“The Blackpool game will be great for us, giving us a chance to test ourselves against a League One side.

“They will be looking forward to next season with new owners and will be bringing new faces in to attempt promotion back to the Championship.

“Terry is going to be bringing his first team so it will be great for our boys to get out and face a team that play in the third tier of English football.

“It will be a fantastic occasion and we are hoping to pull a big crowd in to the MRG. We had fantastic support both home and away last season, so hopefully they’ll be back in their numbers with some big home friendlies in Chorley, Bamber Bridge and Blackpool before the season gets underway.”

It will be a 2pm kick-off at the Mike Riding Ground, with admission prices £6 adults, £4 concessions and under 16s will go free.
