With just three games left of the 2024/25 season, Town travel to Burscough.

Despite the fact that neither side have much to play for, both will want to finish on a high following a rollercoaster season.

The Opposition

Burscough had a bit of a rocky start to the season, but have been nothing short of excellent recently.

They sit 13th and are looking for a third straight win, with attacker Matthew Hamilton leading their scoring charts with 12.

Former Wythenshawe FC striker Callum Laird joins him up front with 10 goals and will pose a high threat level to the Town defence.

Former Town midfielders Owen Imadiyi and Cian Spencer-McDermott have been turning out for the Linnets this season too.

David Dempsey's side will no doubt be looking to get revenge on Town following the late scenes on opening day, when a 90th minute Leighton Hewitt winner saw Town edge out a 1-0 win with finished ten a side.

Team News

Ben Trafford will be back after missing a game through an accumulation of yellow cards.

Preston North End loanee Peter Critchley also made his debut last weekend, bolstering the crippled defence.

To add to those missing, Jack Anderton is set to miss the rest of the season following an operation.

However it was great to see Jack Arrowsmith back after two years out with injury last weekend, playing 25 minutes off the bench and having a great impact.

Ryan McLean also played his 100th Longridge Town game in just his second season at the club.

That is some going.

Both him and Leighton Hewitt need to just feature in some capacity for the final three games and they will have played in every single league game this season.
