Allen started the month brightly with four second half goals to help his side to an 8-1 win against Atherton LR, securing his hat-trick in a five-minute spell before getting his fourth in the final moments of the game.

With no game the following week, Town then travelled to St Helens Town on 16th March where the two sides played out a 4-4 draw. A man of the match performance saw Richie gain his second hat-trick in as many games.

Another man of the match performance from the Town captain came at home against Steeton on 23 March, where Allen scored his first in the opening 45 minutes, before scoring another two to get his hat-trick in the second half, taking the striker to 37 goals and making him the league’s top scorer.

Both Richie Allen and Tom Ince will be presented with their player of the month awards at Town’s penultimate home game of the season on 20th March.
