The Mike Riding Ground plays host to an eye-catching fixture on Wednesday night as second placed AVRO come to Town.

The Oldham based side will be making their first trip to the MRG, after gaining promotion from the Manchester League Premier Division and joining Town in becoming members of the NWCFL in May.

They travel up the M6 on the back of a 5-1 win away at Ashton Town on Saturday and will be looking to make it four wins on the bounce, whilst Longridge will be looking for their fifth.

The two sides met in the reverse fixture back in August, when James Sloane and Richie Allen were on the scoresheet for Town on their second away trip of the season, though AVRO were able to take all three points in the dying moments of the game.

Heading into the game, Town sit top of the Hallmark Security NWCFL First Division North, with AVRO eight points behind with two games in hand.

Last time out, Longridge travelled to east Lancashire to face AFC Darwen, with Town running out 6-2 winners at the WEC Group Anchor Ground on Saturday afternoon.

Wednesday night’s game is one not to be missed, with the top two in-form teams in the division locking horns under the lights.

The club would also like to thank Vic Rooking for sponsoring the ball boys for this fixture.

Admission prices for the game are as follows:

Adults: £5
Concessions: £4
Under 16s: Free

A copy of the matchday programme will also be available free of charge on the gate.
