AFC Blackpool make the short trip along the M55 for a Friday night derby clash at the MRG.

Formerly known as Blackpool Metal Mechanics, then Blackpool Mechanics, they merged with Squires Gate Junior FC to become AFC Blackpool.

AFC currently sit eighth in the Hallmark Security NWCFL First Division North, winning four, drawing two, and losing one of their seven games played.

Town return to the MRG for their first home league game since 25th August in high spirits, having taken maximum points from the last three fixtures, all coming away from home, with eighteen goals scored, over half of them coming in last Saturday’s 11-2 win over Holker Old Boys.

Manager Lee Ashcroft believes the game against AFC Blackpool will be a challenge, but says his side will take this opportunity to further their lead at the top of the table:

“AFC Blackpool will provide us with a difficult challenge and have started the season very well.

“I’m confident the lads who have performed so well over the past few weeks will see this as an opportunity to stake their claim for a place in the starting eleven.”

Tickets prices are as follows:

Adults: £5
Concessions: £4
Under 16s: Free

Don’t forget to grab your copy of This Is Our Town, free of charge on entry to the ground.

Kick-off at the Mike Riding Ground is scheduled for 7.45pm
